Meet our Talented Officers!
President Linda Collins -Since retiring from teaching in 2012, I’ve fully immersed myself in genealogy, joining several lineage societies, including the OGS First Families of Ohio, the Society of the Families of the Old Northwest Territory, Ohio Civil War Families, First Families of Richland, Crawford, and Ashland Counties, DAR, and the Mayflower Descendants. My personal goal is to trace all of my ancestors back to their point of immigration to America—and I’m still working toward that! It’s always exciting to uncover additional details, especially when I break through those stubborn brick walls. DNA testing has also opened up an additional dimension of research, and I’m eager to expand my knowledge through a forensic genealogy course this fall. As your president, I’m honored to serve, and I’m committed to boosting both membership and participation in our fantastic group.
Traci (Grogg) McQuillen -A love of learning, family stories, and an interest in history led me down a path towards Genealogy when I was in my 30’s; however, being a military spouse, teacher, mother, and then grandmother led to a late start with more serious family research until about 5 years ago after I retired.
A member of: Richland County Genealogical Society, Shelby-Richland Genealogical Society, Jared Mansfield Chapter of NSDAR, and OGS keeps me knee-deep in Genealogy. Being native to Richland County, I am working on local, familial, and other genealogy projects including: First Families of Richland County (James Gamble, Gamble’s Mill, 1823); Mayflower Descendants, and any other ancestry “rabbit hole” I find myself researching.
Secretary Kathleen Anderson - Kathleen Bishop Anderson has been interested in genealogy since the 1980s. She is a member of the RCGS along with OGS and a member of the DAR. She is the seventh generation of the Osbun line in Richland County Ohio. Many of her ancestors were pioneers of Richland County going back on her father's side.
She is a volunteer assisting with preservation of the Richland County Probate Court Records and a friendly visitor for the Courts guardianship program. She volunteers for the Bellville Neighborhood Outreach Community food bank.
Kathleen is retired from Ohio Council for Home Care and Hospice as the Executive Director. For 18 years she worked for the Ohio House of Representatives.
She is a traveler and is planning to visit her seventh continent, which is Southeast Asia. She has presented programs on her trips to Africa and Antarctica.
